With over two decades of experience in the HVAC and commercial refrigeration industry — including 14 years at ACRO — Ashley Cox is one of the most trusted names in refrigeration service management across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and the Sunshine Coast.
As ACRO’s Service Manager, Ashley oversees all commercial HVAC and refrigeration operations, leads a team of technicians, and ensures systems stay online for hundreds of business clients. We sat down with him to hear about his journey, what drives his team, and why he’s passionate about the trade.
From Apprentice to Service Manager: A 20+ Year HVAC Career
Ashley:
“I’ve been in the refrigeration and HVAC industry for just over 20 years. Fourteen of those have been with ACRO. I started as an apprentice and worked my way through everything — from breakdowns and installs to managing large-scale service programs. These days, I manage the service department, but I’m still hands-on when needed. I know every customer site and their equipment like the back of my hand.”

Coaching and Community: Life Outside the Toolbox
Outside of work, Ashley stays active in the Ipswich community as a hockey coach at the Ipswich Hockey Club.
Ashley:
“Coaching keeps me grounded. Whether it’s on the field or in the field, you’re helping people grow, solve problems, and become confident in what they do. I think that’s part of why I love this trade — there’s always something to pass on.”
